'Emitai' (1971) chronicles attempts made by the French army to conscript soldiers and commandeer supplies from the Diola tribe during World War II. As the male elders pray to Emitai, the God of Thunder, the women hide their rice harvest. However, when their resistance incurs the wrath of the French soldiers, violence ensues. 'Xala' (1975) is a satirical comedy based on Sembène's novel of the same name. Upon the occasion of his third marriage, El Hadji (Thierno Leye) is rendered impotent and believes that he has been cursed by either his first or second wife. As he attempts to remove the curse, his wealth and influence begin to fade, for as he eventually comes to realise, he has brought this affliction upon himself as a consequence of his own actions. Finally, in 'Ceddo' (1977), the Ceddo struggle to preserve their way of life which is under threat from the growing influence of Christianity and Islam and the rise of the slave trade. When their king converts to Islam, they kidnap his daughter, but their conflict erupts into war that may not end even if she is returned.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / Box Set (Restored)</i>

'Jour de Fete' (1949) was Tati's directorial debut and became one of his most famous comedies. After observing the high-speed efficiency of the American postal serivice, the postman, François (Tati), of a sleepy French town is inspired to add a little excitement into his delivery route. This coincides with the arrival of the summer fair, and chaos ensues. 'Les Vacances De M. Hulot' (1953) sees the introduction of the character of Monsieur Hulot (Tati). As Hulot sets off on a holiday by the sea, accidents and severe misunderstandings follow him leaving his fellow hotel guests less than satisfied. In 'Mon Oncle' (1958) Monsieur Hulot returns with his brother-in-law, the manager of a plastics factory. When Hulot discovers that his nephew has been growing up in a house full of gadgets and gizmos he tries to steer him away from a life of automation. In 'Playtime' (1967), Monsieur Hulot returns accompanying a group of female American tourists as they travel through Paris. 'Parade' (1974) is a docudrama starring Tati giving a jovial observation of the circus, including the shenanigans that go on behind-the-scenes of the production. 'Trafic' (1971) sees Tati play Monsieur Hulot for the final time. As he transports his innovative motorhome from Paris to a motorshow in Amsterdam Hulot encounters many problems and hindrances including traffic jams, nose-picking drivers and car crashes.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / Box Set</i>

'Reprise' (2006) explores the friendship between two aspiring writers and their struggles with rejection, success, fame, relationships, writer's block, and clinical depression. The film follows punk rockers Phillip (Anders Danielsen Lie) and Erik (Espen Klouman-Hoiner) as they decide to submit their respective manuscripts to local book publishers. Erik is less confident of his literary abilities, while Phillip is, at least on the surface, more confident in his and Erik's work. Erik's suspicions are confirmed, however, when the publisher rejects his manuscript and accepts Phillip's novel. While Erik questions whether he should give up and find another profession, Phillip has a psychotic episode. 'Oslo, August 31st' (2011) chronicles a day in the life of a 30-something recovering drug addict struggling to find his way in life. While on day release from a rehab clinic, Anders (Danielsen Lie), a once-promising writer from a privileged background, travels to Oslo for a job interview. Before the interview, he visits friends including Thomas (Hans Olav Brenner) with whom he shared a wild past, who has now settled into family life. As he revisits old haunts and acquaintances, Anders' quiet desperation grows, and thoughts of suicide are never far from his mind. Finally, 'The Worst Person in the World' (2021) follows four years in the life of Julie (Renate Reinsve) as she struggles to settle down and choose a career path while navigating relationships with graphic novelist Aksel (Danielsen Lie) and barista Eivind (Herbert Nordrum) in Oslo.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / Box Set</i>

With the residents treating Bernard with coldness and an unwillingness to discuss the woman's death in detail, he begins to notice their zombie-like behaviour and wonders if they could be under some kind of spell. In 'The Fifth Cord' (1971) alcoholic journalist Andrea Bild (Franco Nero) attempts to overcome his own personal demons when he is assigned to investigate a series of savage murders, each following the same sinister theme. Can he solve his own problems and piece together the clues before the killer strikes again? Finally, in 'The Pyjama Girl Case' (1977) retired policeman Inspector Thompson (Ray Milland) returns to active service when the corpse of a young woman with a horribly mutilated face is discovered on the local beach.
